He cheers for killer US squads - Navarro and the Wildcats, after taking out second at Worlds this year Ladarius has his sights set on the top spot!
Here is Ladarius and his 8 for Eights!
1. What got you into cheerleading and how long have you been cheering for?
My older sister cheered when I was younger and one day she thought she would teach me a back handspring. I was about 10 years old when I found out what cheerleading was but never really showed interest until early high school.
I needed a sport to challenge me on many levels. My sister suggested that I cheer so in 2014-2015 year I did as such.
I went on to Ace Cheer Company to cheer on Pride warriors in Panama City, Fl and have cheered since then.
This will be my 5th year of Cheerleading.
2. What is a day in the life of Ladarius Marshall like?
A day in the life of Ladarius Marshall is like a burst of energy that doesn’t stop until I fall asleep. I have so much energy to attack the day and laugh with friends about anything truly.
3. What motivates you to keep cheering?
What motivates me to keep cheering is that I haven’t won the very comp that I left home to win.
Where I come from not many kids can make it out of because it’s a cycle that goes on and that’s not positive. I left to further myself in education and to elevate myself in Cheerleading to compete amongst the best of the best. I know my job will be done when I complete my task because on then will I visit back to my middle school and high school back in Fortwalton beach, Fl to tell them the story of the “gifted troublemaker”.
The people back home are my motivation to keep pushing when times get tough and to show kids who are just like me that you can do anything you set your mind to do.
4. You have killer skills, what is the Ladarius Marshall method for nailing tumble passes and learning new moves?
I tell myself “If you do exactly what the coach tells you nothing bad will happen”. I may talk myself into doing skills that scare me which makes me go for anything.
Executing the technique of a skill is what I lean on more than anything in order to stick a skill I’m just now learning!
5. You are stuck on a deserted island, you can take 3 cheerleaders. Who are they and what do they bring to the party?
Jeremiah Harris, because he would make me laugh and not think about the fact that we are stuck.
Kalia Taylor, because she is the life of the party. She brings so much hype to my life and reminds me of a small ball of energy, I could never see myself without her.
Chase Peek, because he is one my closest friends and to have him exploring the island with would be amazing, he brings so much joy to my life and I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side hiking this island through and through.
These three people play a great role in my life and I would be blessed even in the worst situations to have them with me.
6. Before a big comp, I....
Before a big comp, I tell myself that it’s just like at home with a few more people watching. That’s how I calm myself down!
7. Most insane thing I have ever seen (or done) in cheerleading?
When I cheered on Ace Warriors 2016-2017 I was tumbling and accidentally tripled.
8. Biggest comp that you have been to in your career, the highlights and did you place?
Worlds 2018, my highlight was hitting and finishing strong with my team.
Wildcats placed 2nd next to 1st place which was by an awesome performance from 005 from Top Gun Miami.
BONUS question (cause we need to know) - Would you like to come to Australia on a cheer-cation?
